Eri silk is stronger than mulberry silk. You can spin it on its own or blend it with wool or cotton. Eri silk is warm in winter and cool in summer.

Eri silk is produced by eri silk moth larvae (Samia or Philosamia ricini), which feed on castor oil leaves and cassava leaves.
